FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS WITH REGARDS TO ORDINATION AND LEGAL HAND-FASTING
		**Do you offer legal ordination to circle members and graduates? No. Sisters in Freya's Moon ~ Womyns Path of Healing is not a public religious institution and we, therefore, do not offer ordination. **Can you perform legal  hand-fasting ceremonies? No. But I am trained and qualified to perform hand - fasting as a non-legal wedding ceremony. **What is the difference between " a marriage" and "a wedding" The difference between marriage and wedding is that; A marriage is a legally binding contract, registered with the government and approved/enforced by governmental agencies A wedding, is a religious ceremony involving the administration of oaths of a spiritual -- IE, non-legal -- nature, performed on the couple's behalf by their representative of religion. **Who can perform a wedding ceremony? Theoretically anybody can perform your wedding ceremony ( such as non-legal hand-fasting  ) **but** if the person, performing the hand-fasting, is not licensed and the couple wishes to be recognized as legally married , the couple would have to get married by an authority approved by the government as well. **Who can perform legal Hand-fasting in Canada ? Canada has particularly restrictive laws regarding who may register to perform marriages, those laws include that only clergy of a formally recognized church or public religious body are allowed to perform a marriage as a legally binding contract. ** I am seeking ordination. Will this automatically qualify me to perform legal hand-fasting? No !!  If you seek ordination from any religious body, church or institution in order to perform legal marriages and hand-fasting please make sure that the ordination offered has legal value in your province !
